New York Red Bulls are in need of depth in the forward position and have followed up the loan deal for Elias Monoel with the signing of MLS veteran Tyler Pasher. The move was completed off of the waiver list as the Houston Dynamo showed no interest in keeping the player.
Pasher hasn't lit the league on fire with only two goals and one assist in 17 appearances. His best seasons were recorded in 2019 and 2020 where he scored double digit goals for the Indy Eleven in the USL Championship. While his time with the Houston Dynamo hasn't been standout, the team itself also hasn't lived up to the expectations of new ownership.
This move could give the Canadian international a chance to show his skills in a new system. With the departure of Ashley Fletcher, New York has been in need of depth. Especially as the schedule grows more and more dense late in the season. Pasher has played as both a striker and a winger, giving Gerhard Struber more options to play the 28 year-old.
