Muyl has been with the Red Bulls his entire professional career, having joined the first team in 2016 and playing in 132 games over the course of four seasons. The New York-native was a major part of former head coach Jesse Marsch's plans and played on the wing for a considerable amount of time. He never fully developed into the offensive player that many thought and now will potentially move on in order to progress his career.
What New York is getting in return is the ability to continue to bring in players from the international market. Rumors of a better working relationship between Salzburg and New York appears to be coming to fruition with the loan of Tetteh. More moves could be on the horizon with Head of Sport Kevin Thelwell hoping to revamp the club into an MLS Cup contender quickly.
Confirmation of the move should come later in the week. The second MLS transfer window opens on Wednesday as the team is moving to solidify the lineup before the league's restart on August 20th. New York will play NYCFC upon their return to Red Bull Arena. Muyl may not be a part of the team any longer when that game kicks off.
