The 19-year-old Danish prospect appeared to be on a track for the first team. He joined Leipzig in 2018 after a 2 million Euro transfer from FC Copenhagen but could never break through a very competitive midfield. This includes players like Tyler Adams, Hannes Wolf and Amadou Haidara who are continuously fighting for starting positions.
The move to Brentford is a three-year deal with an option to extend. More than likely Bidstrup will be a leading candidate to start giving his skill in the youth ranks. The move shows Leipzig's abundance of talent but also a move towards starter-ready talent as they look to push for the Bundesliga title in the next few seasons.
