New York Red Bulls continue to sign attacking players with the addition of 19 year-old Norwegian winger Dennis Gjengaar. The player has signed a four year contract that will see him with the team through 2027.
Gjengaar has spent the last two seasons in the Norwegian first division with Odds BK. In that time he's scored seven goals and assistd on two others in 39 appearances. The attacker has been with his home country's club for his entire career, making the move now to MLS in a team that is looking for depth following the loss of Luquinhas this past off-season.
"Dennis is a talented midfielder with great on-the-ball qualities," said head coach Sandro Schwarz. "We are excited to have him at the club."
Gjengaar becomes the third major signing for the club, behind Noah Eile and Emil Forsberg. The team will be relying heavily on talent developed within the team over the last few seasons, hoping that the return of injured players like Lewis Morgan and Dante Vanzeir will make the difference in 2024.
