New York Red Bulls II have added Colombian defender Yostin Salinas on loan from Sporting Football Club for the rest of the 2022 season. The 23 year-old will hope to make an impression on the coaching staff heading into MLS Next Pro in 2023.
Salinas has played in over 3,000 minutes in the Costa Rican first division and over 6,000 with his previous club, Deportivo Saprissa from 2017 to 2021. The addition adds experience to a club full of young and developing players.
"Yostin has a lot of professional experience," said Sporting Director Denis Hamlett. "We are excited to add him to our group. We feel he has the tools to succeed in our system."
Salinas could be available as soon as this Friday when New York Red Bulls II welcome the Charleston Battery to MSU Soccer Park in the USL Championship regular season.
