It was believed that leftback David Raum was destined for Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich but now it is RB Leipzig that is in advanced talks with the defender according to Fabrizio Romano. The move could see the team strengthen defensively with rumors of Angelino and Nordi Mukiele potentially departing the club.
Raum joined Hoffenheim on a free transfer last summer and has proved himself to be one of the best fullbacks in Germany. The German international scored three goals and notched 13 assists last season and earned a contract extension only six months into the campaign. Now, he is looking to depart with Hoffenheim set to cash in upwards of 40 million Euros.
Should he join the club, he would instantly add competition at leftback with a bit more defense than the likes of Angelino. It will instantly give manager Domenico Tedesco more options heading into the German Cup in two weeks.
