"It is great that the club have expressed their faith in me," said Sucic. "I would like to show what I can do and get playing time in the FC Red Bull Salzburg team as quickly as possible."
Salzburg has gotten much younger over the past year with the departure of Takumi Minamino, Erling Haaland and most recently Hwang Hee-chan. Sucic's signing is another indication of the incredible pipeline of players coming through the Red Bull system. The player has already made eight appearances in the UEFA Youth League and professionally 14 times with FC Liefering.
More than likely Sucic will be a role player next season but we've seen manager Jesse Marsch integrate young players incredibly well. The young Croatian will get a chance throughout the campaign and hope to impress in order to get more minutes.
"Luka has been playing in the Red Bull Academy since 2016 and feels very comfortable with our way of playing football," said Sporting Director Christoph Feund. "I am pleased that we have signed a long-term contract with him as we expect great things from him."
