Wolf had a stop-and-start time with Leipzig thus far due to an injury last year that curtailed his debut. The leg break which came while on international duty didn't stop the club's excitement for the player but did allow others to leap over him and make an impression with first-year manager Julian Nagelsmann. Wolf has only made 5 total appearances for Leipzig, the majority of which were substitute appearances.
It is worth noting that Wolf is just 21-years-old. The Austrian international dazzled the coaching staff in Salzburg where he became a regular on the pitch while still a teenager. In three seasons he made 89 appearances and scored 23 goals.
The move to Gladbach is a bit of a surprise considering how close the two are in the standings. However, Wolf will more than likely get significant minutes as he hopes to return as a potential starter after next season.
